I am a freelance costumier with a background in circus and street theatre. My passion is to create bold and beautiful costumes using a variety of techniques: I can work from designs to create specific pieces or can design and create fantastical costumes for you involving original pattern cutting, masks, headwear and head-dresses.
I am used to working in both traditional and contemporary fabrics, and due to working in recycled fashion for a number of years I am not fazed by unusual fabrics like rubber and plastic! However, I am also equally at home with more traditional costume-making, such as corsetry and tailoring.
I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where I received a Professional Diploma in Costume Making for TV, Theatre and Film. My practical skills include pattern cutting, corsetry, tailoring, millinery, tu-tus, stage make-up, body padding and wearable art, amongst other things.
Since then I have worked for a variety of companies including theatre, circus, TV, pantomime, dance and touring street theatre around Europe. Please see the Clients section for a list of some of the companies I have collaborated with.
